Each year, MCPF brings poetry alive in unlikely places like public parks and national monuments, and this year we will reprise our popular Poetry at the Monument event, featuring poets Jermaine Thompson, Tania De’Shawn, and Lakisha Cargill on Saturday, April 27, 2-4 p.m., at the St. Paul’s UMC, 1500 6th Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama.

Poetry at the Monument, sponsored by the Alabama State Council on the Arts and hosted at the Birmingham Civil Rights National Monument, will feature these three local poets who will share work related to civil rights and social justice.
