From These Roots chronicles Norman’s well-lived life through keen-eyed observations about the personal and political, the communal, cultural, and historical. Her poems are clever and smart, full of the spirit and intelligence that define the author, founding director of the Alabama African American Arts Alliance and first director of the Rosa Parks Museum.
