Supporting Alabama’s Literary Community

The Alabama Writers’ Forum is a nonprofit, partnership program of the Alabama State Council on the Arts, was founded in 1993 by poet and arts administrator Jeanie Thompson with foundational support from ASCA and the Alabama Department of Youth Services. Over the course of our history, the Alabama Writers’ Forum has grown to support a wide variety of programs that celebrate our state’s rich literary culture, and work to support writers of at all stages.
