A witchy feminist Southern Gothic novel set in Alabama? Just in time for spooky season? You have our attention! We’re so excited to welcome Katie Ortiz to the shop! Katie will discuss her debut, The Southern Sorority of Superstitious Witches, a tale of magic, folklore, and sticking it to the man, for fans of Louisa Morgan and Emilia Hart. She’ll be in conversation with romantasy favorite Maggie Rapier!

Katie Ortiz is a writer, teacher, wife, feminist, and cat mom from Alabama. She’s a member of the Alabama Historical Association and writes accessible historical fiction with a speculative twist. Her writing often explores the darker sides of human nature and the ways in which women navigate and survive in oppressive, male-dominated societies. When she’s not writing at her favorite local coffee shop, she fights for the right to education every day as a public school teacher, reads witchy books, and takes her cat on walks.

Maggie Rapier is the USA Today Bestselling Author of Soulgazer (and the forthcoming sequel Wolftamer) who loves nothing more than working in her kitchen, and wandering around the globe. When she’s not elbows-deep in her garden under the watchful eye of her two cats, you can find her at the library, the thrift store, or the D&D table where she plays with her partner and friends.
