Please join us Thursday, April 10, as we welcome award winning fiction writer Caleb Tankersley to the Auburn University at Montgomery campus. Dr. Tankersley will give a public reading at 5:30 (in Taylor Center 221), where he will also discuss his writing process, the craft of creative writing, and his work in the publishing industry. Dr. Tankersley holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi in creative writing. He is an assistant professor of English and creative writing at St. John’s University and the managing director of Split/Lip Press. He is the author of two collections of short fiction: Sin Eaters (University of Alaska Press, 2023) and Jesus Works the Night Shift (Cities of the Straits, 2014). His work has appeared in The Cimarron Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, The Tuskegee Review, and many other journals, including AUM’s own Thirteen Bridges Review. He is the winner of the Permafrost Fiction Prize, and has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize.
