About Rich Partain

Genres: Fiction

Available for: Readings, Workshops, School Programs, In Person

Bio: Rich Partain writes absolutely ridiculous comedy sci-fi adventure stories. He graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of Montevallo too many years ago to discuss here and has been a writer in one form or another for most of his life. When not writing, Rich is a multimedia designer, graphic artist and musician.
The Happy Jack stories are intended to be old-school, escapist adventure yarns with lots of laughs and tons of heart … an antidote to dark, angry fiction where horrible …Read More people do horrible things to each other. Conceptualized during the Covid pandemic, Rich’s stories are tales of good-hearted friends striving against impossible odds to save the universe and innocents from death and destruction. With a healthy sprinkling of profanity, innuendo, occasional bloodshed and violence. And vampires, werewolves, orcs, elves, dwarves, and demigods. Sigh. It’s complicated.
Rich lives in Madison, AL, with his wife, two boys, and a sweet but needy dog.

Works:

Happy Jack and the Scary-Ass Book of Doom, 2023
Happy Jack and the Wolves of New London, 2024
