Bio: Ruth Beaumont Cook is a graduate of the Ohio State University with a degree in English and German education. She has lived in Alabama since 1970 and has served on the planning committee of the Writing Today conference at Birmingham-Southern College and on the board of directors of the Alabama Writers’ Forum. She is the author of three books of narrative, nonfiction history that focus on lesser-known events in Alabama and southern history. Ruth has also written numerous articles on history, …Read More business and the arts for local, regional, and national publications. She has participated in the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and will attend the Bayberry Writing Conference in Savannah in February 2024. She has spoken at book festivals, libraries, and literary groups across the southeast. For many years, she has maintained an active career as a business writing consultant, conducting workshops for major businesses and departments of Alabama state government. Currently, her major focus is fiction.
