About Joe Cuhaj

Bio: Joe has loved writing since his days in high school in northern New Jersey. Following a tour of duty in the Navy, Joe moved to Mobile, Alabama, where he began a career in radio broadcasting in a variety of roles from news anchor/reporter to music director and on-air talent. Joe found that Alabama had a wealth of outdoor recreation opportunities and he fell in love with the state’s incredible natural beauty and wonders. This love of the state’s geologic and biologic diversity led him to write his …Read More first outdoor guide, Hike America Alabama for Beachway Press in 2000. The book has since been re-released by Falcon Guides as Hiking Alabama and is now in its fifth edition. Joe has gone on to pen 13 more outdoor guidebooks for Falcon and five non-fiction history books for Arcadia Publishing, History Press, and Prometheus Books.
