DESCRIPTION:Award winning poet Katherine Gaffney will be reading and discussing her work on Thursday\, November 16\, at 6:30 pm at Theatre AUM in the Taylor Center on AUM campus. \nGaffney is a graduate of the University of Illinois MFA program and the University of Southern Mississippi Center for Writers PhD program.\nHer work has appeared in numerous journals\, and her most recent collection\, Fool in a Blue House\, won the 2022 Tampa Review Prize for Poetry.

SUMMARY:Author Damian Dressick to read at AUM
DESCRIPTION:Award winning fiction writer Damian Dressick will read from and discuss his work at AUM on Monday\, April 17.\nThe event will be held at Theatre AUM in the Taylor Center at 6 pm. \nDressick is the author of the novel 40 Patchtown (Bottom Dog Press) and the flash collection Fables of the Deconstruction (CLASH Books). His writing has appeared in more than seventy literary journals and anthologies\, including W.W. Norton’s New Micro\, Electric Literature\, Post Road\, New Orleans Review\, Cleaver\, CutBank\, Smokelong Quarterly\, and New World Writing. A Blue Mountain Residency Fellow\, Dressick is the winner of the Harriette Arnow Award and the Jesse Stuart Prize. He co-hosts WANA: LIVE!\, a (largely) virtual reading series that brings some of the best Appalachian writers to the world. Damian also serves as Editor-in-Chief for the journal Appalachian Lit.
