He is also co-editor of “A Documentary History of the United States\,” a fascinating collection\, and interpretation\, of documents that have forged American history.\nThe book — first published in 1952 by Heffner’s grandfather\, the late historian Richard D. Heffner — has been updated by Alexander to include more recent history. The book includes everything from America’s founding documents\, Supreme Court decisions\, and inaugural addresses to era-defining speeches\, letters\, poems\, debates\, and even…tweets.
