SUMMARY:Jennifer Horne: Third Thursday Literary Series
DESCRIPTION:Jennifer Horne will be our guest poet at the September 17th Third Thursday reading\, which will take place at Pebble Hill on Debardeleben Street in Auburn. Refreshments and book sales will be available at 6 p.m. The program will commence at 6:30\, beginning with a brief open mic reading. \nHorne served as the twelfth Poet Laureate of Alabama\, 2017-2021. She is the author of six books\, most recently Letters to Little Rock: Poems\, and a biography\, Odyssey of a Wandering Mind: The Strange Tale of Sara Mayfield\, Author. She also has edited five volumes of poetry\, essays\, and stories. She is the 2025 winner of the Hall-Waters Prize for Excellence in Southern Writing. \nThe Third Thursday Literary Series is sponsored by the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities\, Department of English\, and Southern Humanities Review in the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University; the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Auburn University; and the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
