The work is a bold new jazz-infused musical that traces three generations of a Southern Black family as it encounters and confronts acts of racial injustice. Amazing storytelling and voices like you’ve never heard before make the play a powerful experience. Join us for a bookstore program featuring playwright /creator Harrison David Rivers (book and lyrics) and Danyel Fulton\, one of the cast members. Fulton will perform several segments from We Shall Someday. Rivers will speak about his influences and the genesis of the project. Come meet the team and be inspired. She has been awarded a fellowship from the Alabama State Council on the Arts\, an artist residency at Hot Springs National Park\, the first Eco-Poetry Fellowship for Magic City Poetry Festival\, and the 2022 Alabama Author Award from the Alabama Library Association.
