The Alabama Authors Directory is a resource for readers, editors, publishers, educators, librarians, program planners, and the simply curious to discover and learn more about writers with connections to the state.

Authors directly submit their entries via this form, including publications, availability for programs and workshops, and contact information. Easily searchable and updated, the directory will grow and become more valuable with each entry.

Alabama authors are writing in every genre, for every age and interest, and in just about every corner of the world. From the new and emerging to the underknown to the best known, the Alabama Authors Directory is a resource to discover writers and works that reflect our rich, lively literary culture.

All information is provided by authors or their representatives. Entries are published as submitted after review for format and appropriateness. AWF reserves the right to screen and deny any content deemed inappropriate.

Bio: Adrian Lee Bush is a writer, director, performer, and educator whose creative journey has taken her from Alabama stages to Los Angeles and back. A BFA graduate of Niagara University and current MFA Playwriting candidate at Hollins University, Adrian’s work spans theatre, television, film, and music.
She has written and directed original plays across genres—including musicals, historical dramas, and post-apocalyptic thrillers—and also works as a dramaturg, intimacy choreographer, and certified …Read More fight choreographer. Her writing explores themes of legacy, identity, and healing. In Los Angeles, she co-founded the nonprofit theatre company Above the Curve.
Adrian now serves as Director of Sacred Arts & 50 PLUS Ministries at First United Methodist Church in Montgomery, where she creates community-based arts programming. There she develops original scripts and curriculum for children’s theatre. She believes theatre heals, storytelling connects—and that writers never stop learning.
