Bio: Ashley Wurzbacher is the author of the novel, How to Care for a Human Girl and the short story collection, Happy Like This, which won the John Simmons Short Fiction Award and was a New York Times Editors’ Choice. In 2019 she was named one of the National Book Foundation’s “5 Under 35” honorees. Ashley’s short stories have appeared in The Iowa Review, The Kenyon Review, Prairie Schooner, The Cincinnati Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, Gettysburg Review, and other journals. She earned her MFA …Read More from Eastern Washington University and her PhD in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Houston. Originally from Titusville, Pennsylvania, she currently lives in Birmingham and teaches creative writing at the University of Montevallo.
